Overview

Ella returns to her hometown after years away and meets some old friends for dinner. She is found dead by a football field the next morning. Detective Daniel is assigned to the case and wants to find the truth against the wishes of his superiors. As Daniel and his assistant Mirek move through this dreamy small town, its familiar streets, its closed doors, its people; the investigation begins to feel like something more than an investigation. The timeline doesn't hold and Ella herself keeps appearing at the edges of the story, in fragments, in the days before she came back. Memoria is a film that moves between past and present and explores the themes of grief, time and the persistence of memory.
